Important Disney Dining Updates

Dining Plan and Reservation Updates

At this time the Disney Dining Plan will not be available to add to a package. I am hopeful it will be returning, in the meantime, select restaurants will be able to be booked at 60 days out. Although I do not know if this is a permanent change from my understanding it looks like it will be permanent. I for one am excited to not have to make my dining decisions 6 months before we travel. It is important to note reservations are still highly recommended especially with the occupancy limits of the restaurants.

Welcome to the new park Pass system

Important Park Updates

Park Reservations will be a new norm for the time being. We do not know how long this will be in place it is important to understand how it works. After you make your resort reservation you will need to select which park you want to go to each day. You will make the selections for the entire party. This is the only way you will be guaranteed entry into a park. If a park does not have availability you will need to select a different park.

At this time there are many other important changes in place, one of the most notable is there are no FastPasses being utilized. I am hopeful that by the start of 2021 FastPasses will be available.

Important MagicBand Updates

Magic Band Updates

Disney is exploring ways for guests to use their mobile tech to experience the magic – particularly now as the use of phones and apps continues to evolve. In 2021, they are releasing an innovative new offering as part of the My Disney Experience app that will bring features of a MagicBand to your smart devices, building on the app’s existing digital key feature. With this new offering on the horizon, Disney will be retiring the complimentary MagicBand distribution to Disney Resort hotel guests for new reservations with arrivals beginning Jan. 1, 2021. Disney Resort hotel guests will continue to have the option to purchase new MagicBands at a discount, and there may be even more colors and designs featuring favorite Disney characters in the future. Guests who prefer not to purchase a discounted MagicBand will be able to use the My Disney Experience app or a Key to the World card during their visit.
