All-Inclusive Packing Tips

All-Inclusive Packing Tips

I am so happy you decided to stop in and check out my All-Inclusive packing tips. If you are here it means you are planning on heading somewhere warm and fun.

Going on vacation is a lot of fun. Packing, however, can be overwhelming and stressful. My goal here is to help relieve the stress a little. Obviously, I can’t come pack for you. In fact, you really wouldn’t want me to. I am one of those people that look at my flight time and count backward to see exactly when the last minute that I can pack is, then I convince myself that I really don’t need THAT much time to pack so I shorten it by about 30 minutes.

Enough about that let’s talk about why you are here, all-inclusive packing tips. We also have some tips for Alaskan cruises and tropical cruises.

Packing for your all-inclusive vacation

I have really worked hard over the past few years at minimizing what I pack. It has been a work in progress, but one of the single most helpful things for me has been a good list. Today I am going to help you design your perfect list. We are going to start with the carry-on bag.

Carry-On Bag Packing Tips

  • Passport – When traveling by air out of the country you must have a passport. Make sure you check with your travel professional to verify the passport requirements.
  • Printed Travel Documents – Although not required, I like to have my documents printed just in case.
    • COVID Required paperwork – Most of the Islands have their own set of requirements due to COVID and it is your responsibility to know what is needed and have it with you. **Your Travel Professional will help you navigate this process.**
    • Travel Insurance – When traveling out of the country it is recommended to have some sort of travel protection.
  • Mask – Currently masks are required on flights and in some areas of resorts. It is a good idea to have a few packed.
  • Cash/Credit/debit card – you will want to have cash for tips at the airport and depending on the resort and transfers you are using.
  • Medications – DO NOT PACK your medications in your checked bag. If it is something you need pack it in your carry-on.
  • Electronic devices and chargers – I use this portable charger you never know if you will have delays or baggage issues and need to charge your phone. Seriously this is on EVERY packing list. I actually have multiples.

  • Books/podcasts/ebooks –  Plan what you will do on your flight. I work… but that’s probably not normal.
  • Earphones – The person next to you doesn’t want to listen to whatever you are listening to.
  • Carry-on Bag – Obviously this is a pretty necessary part of a carry-on. The most important part is to make sure it fits within the required carry-on size limits. A good rule of thumb for domestic U.S. flights is to adhere to suitcases sized 22″ x 14″ x 9″. For international I would try to stick with one that stands no more than 21″.

Sundries/Toiletries

  • Deodorant
  • Toothbrush/toothpaste – these are great to just throw in a bag and go
  • Floss
  • Mouthwash
  • Makeup and supplies
  • Razor – Expert Packing Tips: This travel case is great for a razor and blades.
  • Shaving Cream
  • Contacts & Solution/glasses
  • Face wash
  • Lotion
  • Straightener/curling iron
  • Brush/comb
  • Hair spray/Gel/oil/protectant
  • Hair clips/ties/accessories
  • Feminine Hygiene Products

You will notice I do not have shampoo, conditioner, soap, or body wash on my list because most resorts have those items. If you want something specific make sure to pack it.

This is where I tend to overpack. My best tip is to pre-plan out your outfits. I know it is difficult, look I have used all the excuses in the book to pack 25 outfits for a 5-night resort stay. Pack things that can be versatile, so if you aren’t feeling that top with those shorts you can change it up without packing a whole other outfit.

Clothing

  • Underclothes
  • Pajamas
  • Socks – Make sure you think about those outfits and how many days you will actually be wearing socks. You don’t want to forget them if you are planning an excursion that you will be in tennis shoes.
  • Belts
  • Hats – I love these floppy hats
  • Shoes
    • Tennis shoes – Especially for certain excursions
    • Sandals
    • Flip flops
    • Dressy Shoes – if you plan on dressing up for dinner
  • Pants/Capris
  • Shorts
  • Shirts/blouses
    • Casual
    • Dressy
  • Sundresses – great for day and casual evening wear – I typically wear dresses more than anything else. They are so versatile. Here are some of my favorites that even have pockets.
  • Outerwear – some evenings can be a little chilly depending on the island, it is also a great way to dress up a more casual look for dinner.

Dinner Attire

Depending on where you are going there are typically so many options for dining. Some are more dressy and some or more casual.

All-Inclusive Resort Life Items

There are always a few items that make your vacation life a little easier.

  • Sunglasses
  • Camera
  • Day bag – water resistant is great
  • Portable Charger – I covered this earlier but I really do use this a lot on vacation.
  • Ziploc bags – I always like to have a few with me.
  • Travel first aid kit – you can buy one or make one using items you have in your medicine cabinet.
  • Sunscreen
  • Bug Spray
  • Water Bottle
